Police, ATF investigating cause of house explosion in Wissinoming
FOX 29's Hank Flynn has the latest details on the investigation.
PHILADELPHIA - Emergency crews responded to an apparent gas explosion at a house in Northeast Philadelphia Tuesday afternoon.
SKYFOX was over the scene at 6300 Algard Street near Walker and Levick Streets in the Wissinoming section of the city shortly after 2 p.m.
"Our units arrived to find the front of the building missing and collapsed. The second floor heavily involved in fire," Philadelphia Fire Department Commissioner Adam Thiel said.
Video from the scene showed debris from the front of the house strewn across the front yard as firefighters sprayed water on the building.

Video captured a house explosion in Northeast Philadelphia where Good Samaritans rushed to help.
A 61-year-old man was taken to Jefferson Hospital for treatment of his injuries. He is currently listed in stable condition.
A second male was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
The man was pulled from the home by a Good Samaritan.
"People were screaming and I looked. I seen the whole thing blow up though. I just heard them crying and screaming so I went in and try to help him out," Good Samaritan Rakym Dyer said. "I went upstairs and he was on fire. So I put him out with the extinguisher. I picked him up put him on my shoulders and came downstairs."
Dyer lives in South Philadelphia but Tuesday he was visiting a friend a block away from the explosion.
Philadelphia Gas Works tells FOX 29 they are offering support to the investigation and service has been shut off to three properties.
The cause of the blast is unknown at this time. Philadelphia police, the fire department and ATF investigators are investigating.
