FOX NEWS - The city of Indianapolis is making it illegal to leave your dog outside in high heat.
Dog owners must give their pet shelter when temperatures reaches 80 degrees Fahrenheit, and bring them into a "temperature controlled facility" when it's hotter than 90 degrees.
If they don't, they could face fines or, with repeat violations, have their dog taken away.
The provision is one of several new additions to a city law on the care and treatment of animals, which set other new rules on kennels and shelters, tethering and fenced enclosures. The law also makes it illegal to chain your dog up outside overnight or if it's less than 6 months old.
