Injured dog left tied to dumpster makes miraculous recovery, looks for forever home

A dog that was found badly beaten and tied to a dumpster in Cobbs Creek last fall is looking for a new home.

Charlie, an adult pit bull mix was found tied to a dumpster near a recreation center in Cobbs Creek last October.

He had been badly beaten and abused and was taken to the Philadelphia Animal Hospital where he received life-saving care.

Charlie required multiple surgeries and spent several months recovering before he was finally made available for adoption this week!

City of Elderly Love, an animal rescue, put Charlie up for adoption Thursday night. Charlie is around 5-7 years-old and has no special needs resulting from his injuries. They did note that he is a bit of a messy drinker due to one of the injuries to his face.

The rescue does not believe Charlie was intentionally used for fighting, but believe he may have been involved in a fight with another dog. That fight may have left him injured and those injuries may have been left untreated before he was abandoned.

Charlie is described as a friendly dog who is quick to make friends with everyone he meets. Due to his past, the rescue does believe he would be best off in a single pet home.

Charlie is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love.
