Shore towns are bracing for what could be a significant winter storm along the coast as high winds, significant snow, and a near full moon makes it a perfect recipe for a mess down the shore.

Shelves at local grocery stores are already going bare as residents stock up on water, bread, and milk in ocean city. Even firewood was scarce.

As if the threat of six-inches of snow wasn't bad enough. Jennifer Stein is stocking up on bottles of water after her pipes froze and burst.

"I'm just going to hope for the best. Hope tomorrow I get my water fixed. Because it's going to be really tough to stay here with a Nor'easter and no water," Stein said.

Robert Rowell came to pick up a stock of coffee. He like many others say it may be a long few days indoors.

"Whatever happens is going to happen. But you know these are things we have to face in life. They already predicted it. All we have to do is go through it," Rowell explained.

"You are going to get up to an inch to six inches. But on top of that the winds blow all the tides in. With the full moon we're in trouble on this one," said Robert Winder of Estell Manor.

Although it looks warm and peaceful, Jersey beaches are like a frozen tundra these past few days, and with a major storm off the coast beach erosion could be a problem.

Just two weeks ago Ocean City finished a two month multi-million-dollar beach replenishment project.

Although officials say they're not concerned about losing more beach with this storm. Longtime residents are bracing for impact.
