Jets soar, ships sail: San Francisco Fleet Week is back again

It's that time of year again when jets soar and ships show off their stuff in the San Francisco Bay.
Just shy of a million people are expected to descend upon San Francisco for the annual Fleet Week celebration this weekend, not including those who will head to Park for the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival.

Here's a lineup of the weekend events through Monday.

Friday,Oct. 6

The annual SFFW Parade of Ships will take place on Friday, 06 October 2017
The SFFD Fireboat "St. Francis" will be the first ship under the GG Bridge at 11:00 AM

USCGC Stratton is the third Legend-class cutter of the United States Coast Guard. It is the first "white hull" cutter named after a woman since the 1980s. Stratton is named for Coast Guard Captain Dorothy C. Stratton.

USCGC STRATTON is a National Security Cutter (418 feet long, 54′ beam, 30 ft. draft) homeported in Alameda, CA.
