Kitten adopted by EMT who helped save his life after Camden fire
CAMDEN, N.J. - Two lives were changed in an instant in a heartwarming story that shows the undeniable love between humans and animals.
A 6-month-old kitten was rescued when a fire erupted at an abandoned home in Camden last week.
What we know:
Officials say the "small, frightened" feline was wet, cold and in desperate need of medical attention.
EMTs immediately stepped in to help, warming the kitten as they gave him oxygen.
He was then taken to a local animal hospital with several critical injuries, including smoke inhalation, scorched fur and a sock melted onto his body.
"Despite his harrowing experience, the kitten's sweet nature quickly endeared him to the staff," Pennsauken Animal Hospital said.
Then, in a touching turn of events, the EMT who first cared for the kitten decided to adopt him!

"He left the hospital with his new dad, along with a bag of treats and toys to start his new life."
