Pennsylvania state police are investigating a suspected road rage shooting that sent one man to the hospital late Wednesday evening.

The incident occurred on State Route 309 northbound in Whitemarsh Township around 9:30 p.m.

Police say an older, box style sedan, pulled up on the passenger side of the victim's pickup truck and opened fire, striking the 63-year-old victim in his upper right arm.

The victim told police that the incident may have been motivated after he changed lanes from left to the right so that he could exit onto the turnpike.

Investigators believe two people may have been in the suspect's vehicle at the time of the incident.

The suspect's vehicle has been described as maroon in color, displaying a New Jersey registration. It was last seen headed north on Route 309.

The victim was taken to Abington Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
