Arrest made after 80-year-old man shot on Labor Day

A Labor Day shooting left an 80-year-old man in critical condition, and now police say a suspect has been taken into custody.

A Labor Day shooting left an 80-year-old man in critical condition, and now police say a suspect has been taken into custody.

The victim was found shot twice on the 2600 block of Tasker Street around 9 a.m. Monday

He was transported to a local hospital with gunshots to the head and neck, and listed in critical condition.

Later that day, police say 25-year-old Nicholas Heyward-Walton was arrested at his home in connection to the shooting.

He is charged with attempted murder and related offenses.

A motive has yet to be released by police.
