Surveillance captures moment before teen killed in hit-and-run
Surveillance video provided to FOX 29 by a neighboring business, shows the moments before 14-year-old Dawn Watson was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing the street with her mother. Police say 40-year-old Marvin Wicker is wanted in connection with the hit-and-run.
PHILADELPHIA - Exactly two weeks after 14-year-old Dawn Watson was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing the street with her mother, the U.S. Marshals in Philadelphia captured the suspect.
Earlier this week, police released an image of the suspect they said was wanted in connection with the hit-and-run.

40-year-old Marvin Wicker, was sought for his involvement in the deadly crash that happened Thursday, September 26, at around 9:38 p.m. near the 6500 block of Haverford Avenue.

Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who they say fatally struck a 14-year-old girl who was crossing the street with her mother.
Members of the U.S. Marshals Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force arrested Marvin Wicker, 40, in the unit block of W. Coulter Street in Philadelphia Thursday afternoon.
Wicker was wanted on charges of Homicide by Vehicle and related offenses after fleeing the scene of the crash. He is accused of driving a Mercedes which struck and killed 14-year-old Dawn Watson who was crossing the street with her mother.
Last Tuesday, police say the speeding car with front end damage sought in the deadly hit-and-run on Haverford Avenue, was found just blocks away from the crime scene.
At approximately 2:00 p.m. Thursday, investigators developed information that Wicker was in a rooming house in the Germantown Section of Philadelphia.
Upon investigating the residence, Wicker was found with another family member and taken into custody without incident. He was then transported to Philadelphia Police Headquarters for processing.
"The relentless work of our Marshals Service investigators, working with detectives from the Philadelphia Police Crash Investigation Unit, resulted in the swift apprehension of Marvin Wicker. I hope this arrest can help ease the suffering for everyone who knew Dawn Watson," said Robert Clark, Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal for the Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force.
