Man shot dead on Philadelphia street as gun recovered
A homicide investigation is underway after an early morning shooting in Philadelphia's Pennsport section the day after Christmas.
PHILADELPHIA - A homicide investigation is underway after an early morning shooting in Philadelphia's Pennsport section the day after Christmas.
Officers were flagged down by a man identified by police as the shooter around 5 a.m. on the 1400 block of South Water Street.
Another man, identified by police as an offender, was found lying unresponsive in the street.

He was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound to the stomach.
Police say the deadly shooting may have stemmed from a possible carjacking carried out by two suspects.
The second offender is said to be an unidentified man.
The shooter has not been charged at this time, according to police.
