MANNINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (AP) - New Jersey State Police say a man was killed and another person was hospitalized after the car they were in struck a utility pole on a Salem County roadway.
The crash in Mannington Township occurred shortly after 2am Sunday in the area of Route 540 and Pointers Auburn Road.
Troopers say a 29-year-old male passenger was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
The driver was being treated at a hospital for undisclosed injuries.
The names of the two people were not released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
