PORT SAINT JOE, Fla. (FOX 13) - Justin Squire and Renee Burns were with a group surveying the damage after Hurricane Michael at the Indian Pass Campground in Port Saint Joe, Florida when he saw a dolphin trapped on the beach of Saint Vincent Sound.
A video taken by Burns and posted by Squire on Facebook shows the scene as they drive by the flooded campground toward what used to be a boat ramp.
As his truck pulls closer to the water, Squire stops and jumps from the vehicle, running toward the water.
From the side of the boat ramp's edge, he pulls a dolphin that was trapped just under the surface.
He pulls it onto the open beach and pushes it into the water. He then looks back toward the camera in disbelief.
Burns could be heard saying she saw the dolphin swimming away and it appeared to be OK.
