Man suspected of abducting 2-year-old charged in mother's shooting death

A Wisconsin man -- with ties to Florida -- who is centered in an Amber Alert will face a murder charge in the death of his child's mother, police said.

The Amber Alert for two-year-old Noelani Robinson was issued Monday afternoon, according to FOX 32. At the time, officials in Milwaukee, Wisconsin said the suspect, Dariaz Higgins, and father of Noelani, did not return the child to her mother, and is suspected of abducting the little girl.

Noelani's mother, 24-year-old Sierra Robinson, was found fatally shot shortly after 1 p.m. Monday near 91st Street and W. Mill Road, according to FOX 6. The news outlet reports that the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office has charged Higgins in the deadly shooting, which also injured 28-year-old woman, who was taken to the hospital.

Higgins is believed to be armed and dangerous. If you see him, officials ask that you call 911 immediately. The father and daughter were last seen driving a 2014 black Cadillac with the Florida license plate, HVCZ95.

Sierra's mother, Latosha Bryant, spoke to FOX 6 and said her daughter was living in Las Vegas, but flew to Milwaukee over the weekend to pick up Noelani, who was staying with Higgins. Bryant said she isn't sure why Higgins took Noelani, or where they may have gone.

Bryant released the following statement:

"My daughter was a loving person. She always found the good in others. She loved her daughter with all her heart. The family just wants Noelani to be brought home safely."
