LA HABRA, Calif. (FOX 11) - A massive sinkhole formed Wednesday night between two condominium complexes in Orange County, forcing some area residents to evacuate.
La Habra police responded to the sinkhole, measuring approximately 80 to 100 feet long and 20 feet wide, around 10:45 p.m. in the 900 block of West Imperial Highway in La Habra.
The cause appeared to be an underground flood control channel that collapsed, police said.
No injuries were reported.
Some residents evacuated due to the possibility of falling trees. One condominium was damaged in the incident.
City building inspectors remained at the scene Thursday to assess the damage.
