MEDFORD, N.J. (WTXF) - A fun day at a Burlington County day camp ended in a scary way. Several school buses, five in total, were involved a crash at Tuckerton Road, just west of Lenape Trail, in Medford Township.
The buses, packed with JCC campers, were heading home from a day of activities, when the collision happened.
Ambulances from seven different companies lined up while first responders treated those injured.
Police tell FOX 29 that 21 kids, one staffer and two bus drivers were treated at Virtua Hospitals in Voorhees and Mount Holly.
Nearly 70 campers and 10 staff members were removed from the buses and taken back to JCC Camp to be reunited with their families.
Officials from the JCC say emergency personal arrived in minutes, going on to say:
We thank our partners in law enforcement, emergency medical services and the JCC staff for their work in ensuring the safety of our campers and staff were immediately attended to.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
