More details emerge as family of double murder victim speak out: 'My heart is hurting'
NORTH PHILADELPHIA - More details are coming out regarding a double murder mystery in North Philadelphia as a family is preparing to lay to rest this weekend a young mom, Jocelyn Marshall, after she was killed last month.
Her boyfriend, Terrell Sanders, was also killed in the attack. His family openly talks about their pain.
"Getting a phone call that your loved one got murdered is devastating," Aquilah Shelton spoke of her family’s devastating phone call.
Terrell’s family got that call December 19th, as did Marshall’s family. They were found shot and killed inside the door of Terrell’s second-floor apartment on the 1800 block of Diamond Street, in North Philly.
Terrell was 39 years old, and a hardworking school bus driver whose sone just turned one.
His sister, Kamirah Thomas, stated, "My brother was not this bad person. He didn’t have enemies. He did not live his life like that. Terrell wasn’t a troubled person. He did not get in any trouble. He was not one of those people, he didn’t live that type of life."
His stepmom, Aquilah Shelton, said, "Terrell wasn't a bad guy at all. And I'm not just saying that cause it was my child. I'm just saying this from the heart."
She continued, "Any beef we would have knew about. So, we don’t know where this came from. This is all of a sudden."
Kamirah said, "He didn't have trouble with anybody. Never was no threat. Terrell was loved."
Sources tell FOX 29 detectives are looking at the possibility the double murder was done by those who had access to the third-floor apartment building, but not let in by the victims. Sources say two guns of two different calibers were fired at the victims.
The police said whoever shot Terrell did not get in," Kamirah explained. "They did not come in the house. They literally shot him through the door. They never made it in the house."
Aquilah said, "It's a pain that won’t go away. My heart is hurting. Devastating. I don’t even know how we moving."
"I just wish that if you know something to speak up because this is not ok," Kamirah spoke out. "I want justice for my brother to know that my brother got killed in his home and nobody is just mute and they not doing anything is not ok with me it's not ok at all."
"What makes it so bad is we lay him to rest on my birthday, January 9th. I will never forget this day for the rest of my life. I just want justice served for my son," Aquilah added.
Jocelyn's funeral is Saturday morning. Terrell's is Thursday.
