Multiple guns, ammunition stolen as suspects break into South Jersey gun shop

Video from inside the shop showed the suspects launching an unknown object into the front door, then kicking it in before rushing into the shop.

Evesham Police Chief, Walt Miller, explained, "They walked up to the front of the business. At first, they attempted to use a hammer to break the glass. That was ineffective. They then used a landscaping rock that was brought with them to commit the burglary. The rock was thrown through the front door of the window. Once the window broke, the four suspects entered the business. They went through the business. There was some counters in the business that were also glass. They used the same landscaping rock to break the glass within the business. They removed several firearms and ammunition from the business and they were in and out of the business on less than two minutes."

Officials said they stole four handguns and one long gun rifle, along with a lot of ammo.

They moved fast knowing the store had a burglar alarm system. Surveillance showed they got back into the same white Hyundai they arrived in, which police expect to find abandoned.

"We believe that that vehicle was possibly stolen, based on the fact that the suspects exited the vehicle through the windows without opening the doors," Chief Miller said.

Federal ATF agents arrived at the shop Monday to get a look at the information on the five guns stolen.

"There’s been some similar type burglaries in Pennsylvania that could possibly be related," Chief Miller added.
