Music producer Irv Gotti dead at 54: reports

NEW YORK - Music producer Irv Gotti, known for his work with artists like Ja Rule, DMX and Ashanti has died, according to TMZ. He was 54.
What we know:
According to TMZ, Gotti, whose real name was Irving Domingo Lorenzo Jr., died Wednesday.
Gotti, a New York City native, had been battling health problems since suffering a stroke in 2024.
Gotti had struggled with diabetes, which representaties said contributed to his stroke.
The famed music producer spent part of his career at the music label Def Jam, before launching his own label, Murder Inc. under the Def Jam umbrella.
What we don't know:
Gotti's cause of death has not yet been released.
