New Year 2025: Hundreds turn out for Winterfest fireworks, celebrating the new year
OLD CITY - Families turned out Winterfest at Penn’s Landing Tuesday evening for ice skating, and other family-fun activities to celebrate the new year.
The annual festive dressing up of the area William Penn arrived suffered a bit of rain Tuesday night, but the rain held off for the first show of fireworks to celebrate New Year’s Eve and it was quite a display.
Families were able to enjoy the Ferris wheel, illuminated games and, of course, the ice rink. Additionally, inside The Lodge there was food and beverages for all ages.

Hundreds of families and couples young and old turned out for New Year festivities at Winterfest in Penn's Landing for ice skating, hot chocolate and fireworks.
Each year, Winterfest has two fireworks displays, with the second at midnight, ushering in a new year.
