NJ man who sexually assaulted several children gets 17 years in prison

MAYS LANDING, N.J. (AP) -- A southern New Jersey man who sexually assaulted several children in Atlantic City has been sentenced to 17 years in prison.

Atlantic County prosecutors say Adan Otero also faces the potential of civil commitment upon his release from prison.

The 27-year-old Atlantic City man had pleaded guilty in February to four counts of aggravated sexual assault and a child endangerment charge.

Authorities say the assaults occurred over several months in 2016 in various locations. They did not say how Otero knew the victims, who were all under the age of 10.
