Delaware County DA says no arrests made in shooting that killed young girl

The family of a young girl shot and killed describe their heartbreak

No arrests have been made in connection with a shooting that left an 8-year-old dead and her 12-year-old sister injured at a high school football game in Sharon Hill, according to the Delaware County District Attorney's Office.

The deadly gunfire reportedly happened around 9 p.m.  Friday near the concession stand at the Sharon Hill Sports Complex on the 300 block of Calcon Hook Road.

Family members of 8-year-old Fanta Bility said the child was at the game with her mother and siblings to support her sister who was cheerleading on the sidelines of a match between Academy Park High School and Pennsbury High School.

Questions still remain two days after Fanta Bility, 8, was killed during a shooting at a high school football game in Sharon Hill, Delaware County. FOX 29's Jennifer Joyce has the latest.

MORE DELAWARE COUNTY HEADLINES:

When shots rang out, family members say Fanta ran towards her mother but was hit in the neck and collapsed. She was taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where she was pronounced dead.

"Friday night my heart was broken. My heart so broken, even now. I think about it. I don’t sleep at night," Fanta’s aunt, and namesake, Fanta Kromah lamented. "She’s my favorite niece."

The district attorney made it clear, in a press release, they’re looking into gunshots fired by officers, saying:

"The investigation includes an investigation into the police discharge of weapons following initial shots fired by civilians in the area surrounding the football stadium."

"Somebody do this kind of terrible thing, authority have no information. Who did it? That just stinks, absolutely," Fanta’s uncle, Abu Bility stated.

A memorial has started in honor of Fanta at the Sharron Hill Sports Complex. Anyone wishing to help the family with expenses can do so at the GoFundMe page.
