Officer injured, stun gun used during stolen vehicle pursuit in South Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA - Chaotic scenes unfolded in broad daylight as police say a suspect led them on a chase through South Philadelphia in an attempt to evade arrest.
Timeline:
It all began when a man ran a red light on Snyder Avenue around 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle, which was reported stolen in connection to a carjacking.
A pursuit ensued when the suspect refused to stop, attempting to ride a curb before crashing into a home railing on South 9th Street.

During the apprehension, police say a stun gun was used on the suspect, and a female officer sustained an injury to her hand.
Both were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
