Police: 2 teens stabbed at elementary school playground in Hatfield Twp.
HATFIELD TWP., Pa. - Police say two teens were stabbed at a playground in Hatfield Township.
It happened at Oak Park Elementary School located on the 500 block of Squirrel Lane Monday around 5:20 p.m.
Officers located two victims in the area of the rear exterior playground who each suffered multiple stab wounds. Both victims are minors. They were transported by Volunteer Medical Service Corps (VMSC) to Lehigh Valley Hospital for further medical treatment.
According to officials, a minor has been taken into custody. The incident happened after school hours and was not related to any after school activity.
The investigation is ongoing.
The North Penn School District released the following statement:
"Tragic events such as this are always upsetting. I want to assure you that the safety of the Oak Park community is our number one priority. Thank you to our local police and NPSD security who responded swiftly to this evening’s events."
