Officials identify pizza deliveryman who was shot, struck tree in NJ

PASSAIC, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities have released the name of a pizza delivery driver who was fatally shot before his car crashed into a tree in northern New Jersey.

Passaic County prosecutors say 27-year old office Dervy Almonte-Moore may have been making a delivery when he was shot around 2:15 a.m. Sunday in Clifton. He then drove a short distance into Passaic before crashing.

The Elmwood Park man was unresponsive when police arrived. He was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead there a short time later.

A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

Almonte-Moore was working as a pizza delivery driver for a restaurant in Wallington.
