Fire investigators say a fire that tore through a Bridesburg rowhome and critically injured a grandmother and sent two children to the hospital may have been intentionally started.

4 people rescued from rowhome fire in Bridesburg

Fire officials say four people, including two children, were rescued from a rowhome fire that critically injured a woman.

A woman in her 50s was taken to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital in critical condition, according to firefighters. A 10-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl were treated for smoke inhalation at St. Christophers and are expected to be ok.

A fourth victim is believed to have escaped the fire unharmed.

"There’s nothing left, I was able to get my son’s father's ashes out here, a couple of pictures, this is what we got, everything is destroyed," the mother of the two children, Karrine Mahaffey, said.

Mahaffey said she was at the 15th district police station filing a police report against her ex-boyfriend when the fire started. She claims the man called her and said "if you're not going to be with me, there's consequences for your actions."

Police have not named the ex-boyfriend as a suspect in their investigation thus far. Officials are still working to determine what sparked the fire.
