LOS ANGELES, CA (FOX 11) - Omarosa Manigault Newman used to run African American outreach for President Donald Trump. Yet, she was not impressed by the President meeting with one of the most famous black men in America.
She laughed when FOX11's Elex Michaelson showed her video of the Kanye West/President Trump Oval Office meeting.
"I might be writing 'Unhinged, part 2.' To see a display like that in a highly regarded place like the Oval Office."
Omarosa said the President's meeting with Kanye will not help him electorally.
"I think I understand the dynamics of African American voters in this country. This is not going to gin up any more support from the African American community at all for Donald Trump. He's sadly mistaken if he thinks a display like that will galvanize African American voters," she said.
Manigault Newman recent book about the President called "Unhinged: An Insider's Account of the Trump White House" was a #1 New York Times bestseller.
It chronicles her journey with Mr. Trump from the boardroom of NBC's "The Apprentice" to the Oval Office of the White House.
"Donald Trump has completely changed from the sharp, perceptive person I've met and now he's completely unhinged!" she added.
In a wide ranging interview on the FOX 11 primetime political show "The Issue Is: with Elex Michaelson," Omarosa discussed a variety of hot topics…including Nikki Haley's decision to resign as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations.
"The real story is she anticipates something is coming down the line, especially with the Midterms that there's going to be a shift of power in Washington. She wanted to give herself enough time to get out and distance herself from what I believe will be a very devastating blow for the Republican party," she said.
Elex asked Omarosa for a one word response to describe some well known figures in American political life.
Here's how she answered:
President Trump: Unhinged
Vice President Pence: Stepford veep
Chief of Staff John Kelly: tragic
Advisor Kellyanne Conway: CON-way
First Daughter Ivanka Trump: White House Barbie
Fmr. Sec. of State Hillary Clinton: Brave
Fmr. President Obama: Awesome
Omarosa said she spent most of her career in Democratic politics and appreciates the contrast between former President Obama and President Trump.
So, what's next for Ms. Manigault Newman? "Doing work here in Hollywood and some of the projects I'm doing to bring politics to the small screen and to the big screen," she said.
The complete interview with Omarosa will air on "The Issue Is:" Friday October 12th at 10:30PM on FOX 11 Los Angeles.
