Oxygen tank explodes in garbage truck, injures worker

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia bomb squad is investigating after a oxygen tank blew up in the back of a garbage truck and injured a sanitation worker Friday in West Philadelphia.

Police say the explosion occurred on the 400 block of North 53rd Street just before 10:30 a.m.

The injured worker was taken by his manager to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

His condition is unknown at this time.
