A Fort Worth parent lied about finding a razor blade inside Halloween candy, according to Fort Worth police.
Police on Tuesday said they were contacted by a father who said he found the razor blade in a Rice Krispies treat that was given away in the Chapel Creek area.
On Thursday police said the claim was a hoax and that they had filed an arrest warrant for the dad.
Charles Pruitt, 33, was arrested on Thursday night by Fort Worth police and has been charged with filing a false police report.
Pruitt's crime is a class B misdemeanor, with a maximum punishment of up to 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine.
In an unrelated case, on Monday it was reported that two Fort Worth women found staples in their children's Halloween Reese's Peanut Butter cups.
