Pediatrician accused of child porn dies in prison

Montgomery County (WTXF) - Authorities say a pediatrician accused of possessing sexually explicit images of children died yesterday at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. His death remains under investigation.

48-year-old David S. Kennedy, a Pennsburg resident, was arrested in November after authorities received a tip from an employee at the same medical practice.

According to investigators, the images were discovered on a cell phone belonging to Kennedy after a nurse practitioner was given a new iPhone by the office in order to handle after hours phone calls over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

While the nurse practitioner was using the phone, she discovered sexually graphic photos of children and other sexual images. Investigators later determined the images belonged to Kennedy.

Kennedy was charged with five counts of Sexual Abuse of Children and Criminal use of a Communications facility.
