Philadelphia man facing child porn charges

A Philadelphia man is under arrest and facing child pornography charges.

David Garriga, 26, was arrested Wednesday after an online investigation into sharing child pornography on peer-to-peer networks.

Agents with the Office of Attorney General's Child Predator Section had identified a computer making sexually graphic images of children available on a file-sharing network.

They say they linked the IP address associated with the computer to Garriga's Kensington home.

The attorney general's office and Philadelphia police went in with a search warrant and say they found suspected child pornography on Garriga's cell phone.

Garriga is charged with distribution of child pornography, possession of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility.

He was released from custody after posting bail, and is due for a preliminary hearing on June 9.

Suspected child predators can be reported to the attorney general's office by calling the Child Predator Hotline at 1-800-385-1044.
