PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - A number of schools, including Philadelphia public schools and those under the city's archdiocese, will be closed Wednesday due to snow.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the storm, which is expected to bring accumulating snow, sleet and rain to the region. The watch goes into effect at 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Snow will creep in late morning and transition to rain during the evening rush hour. It should transition to rain into Thursday morning.

Snow totals will vary depending on when the transition occurs, but a few inches are expected in the metro area.
The region is expected to dry out Thursday afternoon through Saturday morning.
