PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia area schools have announced delays and closings Wednesday, some for the second day in a row, as snowfall impacted the region Monday into Tuesday creating icy patches, slick roads and low temperatures.
The School District of Philadelphia announced it will operate on a two-hour delay Wednesday. In a statement sent out Tuesday evening, they said "all School District of Philadelphia school programs and activities, as well as the District Administrative Office, will operate on a two-hour delay. All late arrivals due to weather-related issues recorded tomorrow, January 17, 2024 will be excused."
Over 145 schools were closed or delayed Tuesday after a winter storm brought up to 4 inches of snow as it moved through the Delaware Valley Monday night around 7 p.m. into Tuesday afternoon.
