Philly celebrates anniversary of U.S. Constitution signing

The Ben Franklin Bridge turned red, white and blue on Sunday to shine a light on the 30th anniversary of its first lighting.

The bridge was illuminated for the first time on September 17, 1987.

The patriotic lighting by the Delaware River Port Authority also marked the 230th anniversary of the U.S. Constitution.

Residents can celebrate the 230th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution with free admission to the National Constitution Center.

Constitution Day features special events, educational activities and constitutional conversations with federal judges.

It will also include a naturalization ceremony for dozens of immigrants who will become citizens of the United States.

Events begin at 8:30 a.m. on Monday and last until 6 p.m.
