Police: 5-year-old boy shot while inside Chester home
Chester, Pa. (WTXF) A 5-year-old boy is in the hospital recovering after he was shot while inside his Chester home. Police say the shooter or shooters fired at least 25 shots into the public housing complex.
The shooting happened right before 11 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of Whittington Place.
Latosha was cooking a late dinner when she heard the shots outside. The mother and her kids hit the floor; however, one of the shots hit 5-year-old Mark Andrews Jr.
The bullet that struck the boy is lodged near his right shoulder. No word on if doctors will remove the bullet. Latosha said the Mark has been in good spirits and is expected to be released from the hospital on Wednesday.
Chester police are calling it a drive-by shooting. Investigators say the family was not the intended targets. So far, no arrests have been made.
