CAMDEN, N.J. - Two people have been arrested after a violent shooting in Camden on the 4th of July, police say.
Authorities say the shooting took place in the area near the Camden waterfront at 10:10 p.m. after the fireworks show began in Wiggins Park.
According to Deputy Chief Janell Simpson, an altercation broke out between two groups and a suspect opened fire, striking a six-year-old girl in the knee.
Officials say she was transported to Cooper University Hospital for treatment.

Authorities say three suspects were arrested on scene and later released as the investigation continues.
Officials say the prime suspect is from Philadelphia.
Camden County Commissioner Louis Cappelli Jr. offered a scathing response to the shooting and gun violence in the city, which he blames partly on Philadelphia.
"We just want to send a clear message to the thugs, and criminals and gun-bearing freaks over in Philadelphia who live in a society of lawlessness," Cappelli said. "We don't want you here. Stay out of Camden. Stay out of Camden County. Stay out of New Jersey. Keep your barbaric behavior in Philadelphia."
