Police: 9-year-old shot while playing outside in Southwest Philly

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA - Police say a 9-year-old boy was shot on the 5200 block of Upland Street in Southwest Philadelphia.

It happened around 10 p.m. Friday.

According to police, the boy was shot once in arm while playing outside. The victim was taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he is listed in stable condition.

So far, no arrests have been made and a weapon has not been recovered.
