Police: Burglar breaks into home, sexually assaults 8-year-old girl

Police in Rohnert Park say a man broke into a home, took off his clothes and crawled on top of an 8-year-old girl while she was sleeping in her bed.

The Rohnert Park Public Safety Department says the man gained entry into the home on Francis Cir by using a garage door opener from an unlocked vehicle.

The mother called police just before 4:00 a.m. Thursday after she heard her daughter screaming. She says she found the man in her daughter's bed. He fled the scene without his clothes on.

Because he left his clothes on the floor, Police found evidence identifying the suspect as 18-year-old Noah Holland of Santa Rosa, a man they were familiar with. They later arrested Holland at a residence on 10th street.

Police also arrested 18-year-old Tristan Ford, who they believe was with Holland the previous evening.

Holland was arrested on charges including burglary and sexual assault on a child. Ford was arrested on charges including burglary and conspiracy.

The 8 year old victim was forensically interviewed on Thursday.
