Police car crashes while taking wounded teen to hospital

PHILADELPHIA (AP/WTXF) -- A police car transporting a teenage gunshot victim to the hospital crashed in Southwest Philadelphia.

Authorities say a 55-year-old man driving a Mitsubishi hit the police car Tuesday evening on the 1200 block of South 58th Street. Other officers arrived and took the 16-year-old gunshot victim to a hospital. He is currently in stable condition.

The officer and the other people involved in the crash were not hurt.

The cause of the crash is unclear.
