BELLMAWR, N.J. - A New Jersey man is facing charges after police say he hit a child with his truck and later turned himself in after seeing his vehicle on the news.
Paul Criscione, 66, is accused of striking a 9-year-old girl as she crossed the street near Ethel M. Burke Elementary School just before the start of school Monday morning.
The child was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries to her head, arm and leg, and she has since been released, police said.

FOX 29 learned that the student was part of the school's safety patrol and was helping other students cross the street just before she was hit.
Criscione has been charged with assault by auto, aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an accident involving bodily injury, and several motor vehicle violations.
Criscione was released pending a future court date.
