Police hail NJ woman who saved 3 boys, dog from fire

TOMS RIVER, N.J. (AP/WTXF) -- Police are hailing a car dealership employee who saw smoke coming from a New Jersey home and rushed in to rescue three boys and a family dog from a fire.

Toms River police said Suzanne Reynolds of Matawan was working when she saw smoke coming from the residence at about 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Police said on their Facebook page that Reynolds "selflessly and heroically entered the home" despite lacking protective gear" and found three brothers on the first floor.

She got them and the dog out of the house. Police said the boys -- who are 8, 10 and 12 years old -- were expecting their mother momentarily and "had no idea that the house was on fire."

Police said the fire didn't appear suspicious; the cause is under investigation.
