Police ID 15-year-old girl fatally shot inside New Castle County apartment
NEWPORT, Del. - Police are investigating after a teenage girl was shot and killed inside a New Castle County apartment on Saturday.
The incident occurred just before 10 p.m. on the unit block of Bennett Court in Newport.
Responding officers found 15-year-old Emoni Rivers-Boyd suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
“It was just a sad tragedy. I’ve been up all night, haven’t slept yet, just thinking about it. It’s sad, real sad,” neighbor Ismael Rivera said.
Police are searching for a suspect after a 15-year-old girl was shot and killed inside a Delaware apartment.

Police are still searching for the suspect.
“When I read it online that she was 15 years old and I see where they took her out, I just shed tears because I know what her family is going through,” Rivera added.
No further information has been released at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
