Police: Man arrested for vandalizing Israeli flag on Ben Franklin Parkway

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - PHILADELPHIA (AP/WTXF) - Police have arrested the man man they say is responsible for splattering red paint on an Israeli flag in Philadelphia.

Antoine Guyton, 26, has been charged with Institutional Vandalism, Criminal Mischief and related offenses.

Members of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia arrived on the scene at Benjamin Franklin Parkway around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a report regarding the incident. The organization told FOX 29 it caught Guyton in the act.

"He was actively pointing a paint gun with red paint at the flag--not any other flag--the Israeli flag. It's a very telling message he was trying to tell us," said Laura Frank, spokesperson for the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.

"It's unbelievable to witness hate happening right in front of you," said Frank.
