Police: Man charged with vehicular homicide after crash kills 4-year-old son

Police have charged a Mount Laurel man with vehicular homicide among other crimes after a car crash resulted in the death of the man's 4-year-old son earlier this year.

An investigation alleges that Ossie Thomas, 27, was speeding down Rancocas Road with his 4-year-old twin sons aboard on the afternoon of Jan. 8th.

Police say Thomas tried to turn on Primose Lane and lost control of the car and veered into the woods near the intersection.

The crash killed resulted in the death of one child. The other boy was taken to Cooper University Medical Center where he was treated for a traumatic brain injury. The boy has since been released.

Officials say Thomas was driving with an open container of alcohol in the car, and later charged him with driving while intoxicated and failing to properly restrain his children.

Deputies took Thomas into custody on Wednesday morning.
