WEST PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - A man and woman are in the hospital after police say they were shot during a home invasion in West Philadelphia.
The incident occurred just after 1 a.m. Thursday morning on the 1400 block of North 56th Street.
Officers responded to the scene and found a 64-year-old woman with multiple gunshot wounds to her legs and one of her hands. A 54-year-old man was also found on the second floor of the home, suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.
Both victims were taken to the hospital where they were listed in stable condition.
Police say shell casings were found on the floor next to the bed where the couple had been sleeping and the suspect or suspects entered the home through a front basement window.
The investigation is ongoing.
