17-year-old shot, killed by 9-year-old in East Germantown, sources say

A 17-year-old is dead after being shot and killed in East Germantown on Saturday. Sources tell FOX 29 it was a 9-year-old who pulled the trigger.

A 17-year-old has died after being shot by a child in an East Germantown home on Saturday, sources tell FOX 29. 

On Saturday evening, police released a report saying officers responded to the 300 block of E Ashmead Street and found a 17-year-old with what they called a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the right side of the head. 

After being taken to the hospital, the teen died hours later, sources say. 

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, but sources tell FOX 29 that a 9-year-old pulled the trigger. 

A 7-year-old was also injured, but not from gunfire, according to sources.
