Police: Remains of Vineland woman found dismembered and burned
Lawrence Township, N.J. (WTXF) - New Jersey State Police say a person passing by found the remains of 32-year-old Tonya Cook. She had been dismembered and burned. SkyFOX flew over the area of Banks Road near Lummistown Road in Lawrence Township in Cumberland County.
Troopers from the New Jersey State Police Crime Scene Investigations Unit responded after Port Norris station were called out around 8:30 a.m. Monday morning. They were collecting evidence in brown paper bags. Tonight we stopped by Cook's last known address in Vineland. People gathered outside did not want to talk.
A family member set up a GoFundMe page saying Cook was "kind and beautiful, loved all of her friends and family and showed unconditional love to all." The family is asking for donations to help bury her. There is no information on a motive or suspect. New Jersey State Police say the victim had ties throughout Cumberland County.
