Police search for missing Lower Merion man
LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WTXF) - Lower Merion police are on the lookout for a man who has not been heard from since Friday, and whose home was found unlocked and vacant.
They say Friday evening, family members reported they were not able to contact Richard Rizzo, 47.
Police officers responded and discovered Rizzo's home was unlocked and vacant.
Saturday, officers found Rizzo's truck and cell phone in the 1400 block of Mill Creek Road in Gladwyne. Unfortunately, he was not seen during an extensive search.
Rizzo, the head of administration for the US Attorney's office, reported to work on Thursday but had Friday off, according to family members. The family tells FOX 29 when he didn't respond to their calls they got concerned and called police.
Rizzo's relatives say the Main Line man is estranged from his wife. Neighbors tell us the couple has children together. Family members offered no information about how or why Rizzo would just disappear.
The Lower Merion Twp. police say they're engaged in an active search for Rizzo.
"There is no indication of foul play," according to authorities. "The well-being of Mr. Rizzo and his family are of paramount concern."
Anyone with information is asked to call Det. John Kuvik at 610-645-6237.
