WARRINGTON, Pa. (WTXF) - Police in Bucks County say they have a suspect in custody after a woman was struck and killed in a hit-and-run Tuesday evening.
Police say Sigrid Davis, 79, was walking near her home along Route 611 when she was struck by a white Kia Sportage that was heading north. The vehicle continued down the roadway, fleeing the scene.
Warrington Township police say about an hour after the incident, they were able to track the suspected driver down at his home in Plumsteadville. He has been identified as 31-year-old Arturo Guzman-Jimenez.
Investigators also say Guzman-Jimenez displayed signs of intoxication and submitted to testing. The driver also did not have a license and told officers he "had fear of being deported," according to police.
Police say they were able to track down the vehicle so quickly after the incident occurred in part because of the amount of car parts that were left behind at the scene.
Bystanders did stop after the accident and attempted to help the victim, but she later died at the scene.
