Police: Swenson School lockdown lifted after student makes threat in class

A Northeast Philadelphia school was placed on lockdown Wednesday morning after police say a student made a threat during class.

Swenson Arts and Tech School on the 2700 block of Red Lion Road was locked down after 10:45 a.m.

Police say during a class, a male student threatened that he was going to shoot up the school. Officials placed the school on lockdown while they searched the school.

The male student was taken into custody and the lockdown was lifted at 11:40 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
