Police: Teens beat homeless man to death in Holmesburg

HOLMESBURG (WTXF) - Police are investigating after they say a homeless man was beaten to death by a group of teens in Holmesburg.

The incident occurred just before 6 p.m. on the 4200 block of Loring Street on Sunday night.

Officers were responding to a robbery in progress when they observed 57-year-old Kevin Cullen lying on the ground unconscious with his pockets pulled inside out and bleeding from the nose.

The victim was transported to Aria-Jefferson Health Torresdale where he died Monday morning.

Police say they were then directed to a group of teenagers walking away from the area where the victim was first found. Authorities subsequently apprehended two men on the 7600 block of Torresdale Avenue. Both men are in custody.

This is an ongoing investigation.
